Updates to Facebook Profiles – New Professional Mode
In the United States, a new professional mode for Facebook profiles includes revenue-generating opportunities and data on content performance.
Making Money in New Ways
The Reels Play bonus program is the first monetization option available with Facebook's Professional Mode.
This allows eligible production companies to earn money based on the number of times their reels are viewed.
The programme is currently only available by invitation, but interested users can sign up to be notified when it becomes more widely available.
Along with the ability to profit from reels shared on Facebook, the structure is getting a slew of new features, including:
- Select multiple clips to make a video.
- Save a reel as a draught so you can finish it later after you've reached the halfway point of your build.
- 60-second reel with an extended duration of 60 seconds
Next year, Facebook plans to increase Reels to more countries.
Features From Pages Come To Profiles
Professional Mode transforms a Facebook profile into a Page.
When this mode is enabled, anyone in your feed can follow and view your public content without sending you friend requests.
You do, however, retain control over who sees the content in specific posts.
With each post you create, you can also choose whether it is visible to the public or only to your friends.
It is currently being tested in the United States with a limited number of profiles, with plans to expand to more users soon.
In the coming months, Business Mode will be expanded to include more countries, as well as new tools and monetization options.
New Facebook Page Features
Facebook Pages will receive a professional dashboard, which will serve as a central location for administrators to review Page performance & access tools and insights.
In limited testing, some admins will notice a new unit at the top of their Page's feed that displays a snapshot of post engagement and follower count.
The new unit could also demonstrate how to create high-performing content.
Finally, Facebook is testing a new post composer for Pages that includes a number of creator-focused features.
The ability to schedule posts, that was exclusively available through Facebook Business Suite, will be tested first.
With this update, admins can now schedule posts regardless of their current workflow or the tool or app they are using.
